John holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Alaska Anchorage and began studying information security in 2022. Before joining KP, he took part in bug bounty programs and performed vulnerability research, finding and reporting security weaknesses in live applications and systems. That background gives him an attacker’s view of how vulnerabilities are discovered, which he now brings to his work with KP’s clients.

Gregory Mertens is a Penetration Testing Associate with a strong background in IT support, cybersecurity fundamentals, and hands‑on technical troubleshooting. He is currently advancing his cybersecurity education at Murray State University with a Bachelors degree program in Cyber Security.

Penetration Testing Associate

Kyle Wilson is a recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. Before shifting to offensive security, Kyle worked on the defensive side of cybersecurity in security operations, gaining experience in security monitoring, alert triage, vulnerability management, and enterprise IT infrastructure. During his time at KirkpatrickPrice, Kyle has assisted penetration testers across a variety of engagements, with responsibilities including engagement setup, infrastructure preparation, reconnaissance, and vulnerability retesting. His background in system administration, networking, and defensive security gives him the tools he needs to keep growing in offensive security. Kyle plans to grow his career in penetration testing by expanding his technical knowledge, gaining hands-on experience, and learning from his experienced peers

Zach has been in the information security field since 2018, and began penetration testing in 2020. As a penetration tester, his primary roles include internal/external network penetration testing, web application penetration testing, and red team operations. Zach has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Texas A&M University.
